History

1987
Correctional Officer Paul Nigh started his career at the newly opened Kings County State Prison, now Avenal State Prison (ASP).

1989
In response to a talent search, Paul passed his ASP Belt Buckle design around the institution to find out if there would be interest in it. After the initial 40 orders came in, over 90 more orders were placed - CDC BUCKLES was born. 

1993
CDC BUCKLES was given its first commissioned job to create and sell a design completely designed by Paul for the 1993 10th Anniversary of the California Department of Correction's Annual Summer Olympic Games.

CDC BUCKLE was either Warden Approved or Official Wear by most all of the CDC Institutions.

2011
CDC Buckles changed to CUSTOM PINS AND BUCKLES (CPB), with Paul Nigh as sole Founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), PC Creative Design created a new company logo, an updated website, as well as other services.

2013
CPB added Challenge Coins to the selection, following a high demand.

2014
Tia Belt a CCI from Pelican Bay State Prison became Vice President of Northern California Sales Division and managed Industry Conventions.

2014
CPB added Cooperate and Private America as clients, adding customized items from Challenge Coins to Lapel Pins, Bottle Openers to Key Chains, Custom Jewelry to Accessories, and more. 

2020-2021
These years were full of challenges around the world, including Paul stepping away from the business for personal reasons.

2022
Sgt Nigh's Designs was launched after client demands, providing customized challenge coins, lapel pins, badges, belt buckles etc. to the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation and other Law Enforcement agencies.
