In Memoriam of Ret. Lieutenant Jim Brown
On July 18th, The California Department of Corrections lost a great man, Ret. Lt. Jim Brown.
Jim's passing came very unexpected and is survived by his wife Janet and 3 children, Jill, Todd and Jennifer.
Jim was a very good friend of Sgt. Nigh and all Sgt. Nigh’s Designs does not take the loss of a department member, active or retired, lightly. Thoughts and prayers to the family, and friends. Losing a loved one is never easy, and Jim was well respected by so many.
Jim Brown started the department in 1970 and retired in 2002 as a Lieutenant. He was the force behind the Folsom Museum since 2001. Throughout his 32 years of service, he worked at Folsom State Prison, California State Prison - Sacramento, Pelican Bay State Prison, and Centinela State Prison, and he volunteered at Folsom State Prison and California Correctional Peace Officer’s Foundation CCPOF
We have teamed up with the family and are in a working relation to bring you a Memorial challenge coin of Jim’s career in the department he so loved very soon. This coin will retail for $10.00 with ALL profits going to the family.
R.I.P. my dear friend. We here at Sgt. Nigh’s Designs will be working to get this coin produced ASAP and of course make a special presentation at this year's CCPOA Conference in Honor of Jim’s life.
